Chael Sonnen Interview Gone Wrong On Youtube

Chael Sonnen agreed to do an interview with this guy which probably put him on the map here so I would say he now owes Chael for those five minutes of fame. He should be happy he got the interview that he did or I personally would not ever have known who

This got posted a few months back, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_LUaHiLruE and being a Chael Sonnen fan I watched it.  I read the comments as I scrolled down and wanted to comment on several but that would have taken FOREVER so I chose one.  Someone signed in as “gggbc” post the following:

“why did cheal leave you ask, because cheal sonnen gave him gold material inhis first interview and landsburg wanted to do another one. i heard he was asking about steroids and sonnen ran off. now i watch it and sonnen did nothing wrong at all, landsburg just has no idea what hes doing and in true canadian fashion landsburg thinks he know everything and did nothing wrong.....smh good for sonnen and i dont say that much.”

As it reads this post was five months ago, so sometime back in December of 2011.  I replied with the following:

“I completely agree.”

I got notice of someone replying to a comment I made four months ago.  My comment read:

“I know Chael. He is a great guy and has done a lot for his community through politics. The way he portrays himself in the MMA is different and primarily for show and to get the crowd pumped or get people to take fights. Chael and Kevin Keeney run a local amateur show called "The FCFF" and have helped find a lot of rising stars such as Mike Pierce and several others. Chael runs his mouth to make points, stir the pot, entertain, and otherwise play the "Head-Game" of the sport.”

I could not find the comment I was responding to but it was a comment by someone logged on as “papashangofan,” just as the notation dictates above.  Well, “papashangofan” replied back and his comment got “too many negative votes” and was removed.  There was an option for me to still display it in order to read it and this is how it appeared:

-This comment has received too many negative votes

“I agree, but sonnens really gotta watch his tone with Michael, its likely they could meet once and it would NOT be pretty for Chael.”

I am breaking rules doing this as a professional writer but I have to due to the absurdity of the post.

Dear “papasgangofan,”

Chael Sonnen is a TRAINED fighter.  Chael Sonnen has VAST experience in decimating opponent after opponent.  Even those he has lost to don’t walk away from the cage unscathed.  This Landsberg character is a media professional with from what I can gather little to no training as a fighter.  And I am complimenting him when I say “professional” because realistically he should have been better prepared as a professional but I have made mistakes as a writer myself being poorly prepared for an interview.  Of course I don’t believe I can say I have ever been that poorly prepared.

Landsberg, however professional he may be, I don’t know because this interview is the first I’ve ever heard of him, was simply attempting to antagonize Chael Sonnen in the interview by asking questions in a manner un-suiting of an interviewer.  He should have been un-bias, or bias in favor of Chael Sonnen for doing the interview.

When someone of a professional status such as ANY celebrity or professional athlete takes the time to do an interview with such a smalltime show, respect should be given to the interviewee no matter how the interviewer may feel towards them personally.  MMA training is VERY demanding.  Those who train and fight in the biggest venue of combat sports in the world, the UFC, are even more drained from the contract interviews, commercials, ect that Dana White has them do along with their training regimen.

Chael Sonnen agreed to do an interview with this guy which probably put him on the map here so I would say he now owes Chael for those five minutes of fame.  He should be happy he got the interview that he did or I personally would not ever have known who he was.  Landsberg may be a good guy and simply didn’t know how to handle Chael’s “unique” characteristics in an interview.

Landsberg, thanks to Chael Sonnen I now know about your show and will be watching it whenever possible just to see who you interview regularly and how you deal with their personalities’.  Best regards.
